[…And In Case I Don’t See Ya, Good Afternoon, Good Evening And Goodnight!] Honestly, I’m aware that you’ve seen many photos very similar to this one on my feed. And probably I already have much better staircase compositions in the gallery. Nevertheless, I wanted to say farewell to 2017 with this photo for a couple of personal reasons: First of all, it was taken at my currently favorite shoot location. I really feel extremely comfortable while taking photographs at this place, mostly because there’s almost always no one to interrupt me during shooting 🙂 And secondly, I thought it would make sense to end the year with a nod to one of the great movie endings in the history of cinema. The Truman Show is a very important film for me, not just because it is a great one (despite its flaws). It’s also important because it introduced me to Jim Carrey. Alright, I knew him before but I wasn’t aware of his acting skills at all, especially in more dramatic roles. Anyway, he had been my favorite actor for quite a long time, and back then, I even created a nickname derived from his name’s pronunciation in Turkish which is “cim keri”. I only changed “keri” into “kedi” (kedi means “cat” in Turkish, and I just love cats 😻) In short, my username “cimkedi” is a bastardized version of this great actor’s name (And it’s also a very bad pun in Turkish). When I signed up to Instagram in 2011 (I guess) I had been using this username for almost a decade, so, I didn’t hesitate to use it on Instagram as well. My only intention for signing up was -just like anyone- to share some selfies and cat photos but, you know, that never happened 😊. My Instagram journey up to this point has been a joyful ride I must say, and it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for you guys. I can’t be thankful enough for your ongoing support. I’m also thankful to Instagram for providing this platform for creators to showcase their works.2017 had its ups and downs for sure. It was mostly on the positive side for me and I hope it was the same for you too. I hope 2018 brings good health and joy to all of us. Happy weekend you all… And in case I don’t see ya, happy new year! #whpresolutions2018

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started Helsinki Facades for the love towards my home city Helsinki. At first it was only a small side project of mine but it quickly evolved to something more meaninful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have put a lot of time and effort to each of the photograph and also to finding all the information about the buildings so it is amazing to see that also you my dear followers appreciate it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Couple days ago @helsinkifacades reached a big milestone as there are 10 000 of you following now! 🤩 I want to thank you all for your support and messages, and at the same time welcome all new people here! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are currently 264 photos in the gallery! Luckily there are loads of buildings left in the city to photograph! Here are couple of your favorites and also couple of mine so far! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have a great weekend! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kristo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #helsinkifacades | #myhelsinki
